This is my favorite "type" of math problem because it makes the learner think and dissect the problem. The problem makes the learner ask, where is the best place to begin, and there is no right or wrong answer to this question because there are several places where one can start. This is problem-solving because the students decide where to begin; the ball is in their court with this problem. While there are correct answers, there is more than one way to get to the answers.
